You pass through McLennan, home town of George Stevenson, founder of the Northern Woods & Water Route. It is prime agricultural land with extra hours of sunshine during the summer allowing bumper crops to grow in the shorter growing season.
For a while you travel through miles of fields. Some farms are over 50,000 acres and it quite a sight when the combines start operating in the fall. The Peace River valley provides spectacular vistas in the fall, unfortunately they leave only stay on the trees for a short but glorious time.
