We stopped at the cairn for the Northern Woods & Water Highway route this morning. As we were there, we saw the Prairie Dog Central train coming up the track across the highway headed for Grosse Isle. This is a regular weekend excursion starting in Winnipeg. We headed to Grosse Isle to get ahead of the train and see it as it came into the station. There were wonderful volunteers at the Grosse Isle train station showing people through the museum buildings and manning the concession. There was live music on board the train and at the station to entertain the passengers. They have different theme weekend trips, including a Train Robbery from time to time.
We followed up this fun afternoon with 9 holes of golf at the Whispering Winds golf course in Warren. This course has recently changed its name and ownership.
Tonight we are camped at the Rubber Ducky Resort & Campground just east Warren and the golf course. This is a great family campground. Lots of fun to be had with a pool, hot tub, bumper boats, and mini golf. Kids can play on the numerous playgrounds and mom can put in a load of laundry at the main building holding the concession and office. They have many water ponds around the property with ducks and fish.
